As individuals attain wealth and accumulate resources, many feel a deep desire to give back. They not only seek to participate in different charitable programs but also want to leave behind a meaningful legacy through philanthropic work. While this practice is relatively new, its popularity is steadily trending within the Bhutanese Diasporic community. However, much of the ongoing charitable operations, despite their best intentions, have yet to yield a direct positive impact in the community as expected. That warrants an urgent course correction—that a more purpose driven philanthropy is necessary.
